Plant General Manager directs, manages, and optimizes a plant or production facility's overall operations and financial performance (P&L). Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Oversees multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant General Manager manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Safety Management
· Role model to all employees by complying with company policies, procedures, rules and regulations as they pertain to safety.
· Ensures health and safety of all employees.
· Ensures site adherence to all Mine Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations at all times
· Works with team to eliminate and engineer-out all high-risk work activities in order to maintain focus on the goal of zero workplace accidents/injuries at all times
Plant Management Functions
· Ensures quarry and plant operations, quality control, shipping operations run safety and effectively at all time.
- Ensures quality meets customer specifications at all times
· Ensures underground mining operations comply with all ATF, MSHA, and company policies, rules, and regulations at all times
· Ensures all production operations comply with all MSHA an company policies, rules, and regulations at all times.
· Assists management in staffing, development, coaching and training of plant personnel
· Develop, regulate, and manage plant and capex budgets as well as improvement projects
· Evaluate, plan, and recommend operating and capex budgets on an annual basis
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree, engineering discipline preferred but not required
· Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in mining or manufacturing environment
· Previous site P&L responsibility is preferred but not required
· Previous budget and capital planning experience in preferred but not required
· Ability to manage direct reports and multiple priorities
· Excellent problem-solving skills, leadership abilities and ability to think strategically
· Salary commensurate with experience
