Plant General Manager directs, manages, and optimizes a plant or production facility's overall operations and financial performance (P&L). Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Oversees multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or equivalent. The Director of Plant Operations is a key leadership role with oversight and responsibility for a plant with approximately 200 team members, and reports directly to the VP, Operations of KIND North America. And this is how you will do it….
• Lead the factory Sr. Leadership Team; responsible for setting cross functional strategies, goals, and priorities for the site.
• Accountable for strategic and tactical plan execution and delivering PQCDSM results.
• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations for the High Point facility; maintain production metrics for quality, production efficiency, delivery and safety.
• Accountable for site P&L including implementation and oversight of plant annual operating plan.
• Participate in various activities related to all functional areas of the plant including safety, quality, productivity, innovation, information and data security, supply management, marketing, people management, and HR.
• Maintain favorable working relationships with employees through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Champion continuous improvement and total employee engagement initiatives
• Must be a developer of talent to ensure future business success and growth.
• Responsible for understanding all applicable food regulations (national, state, and local).
• Responsible for understanding and complying with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. SQF).

You have…
• Bachelor’s in engineering, Food Science or related field required. MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years senior manufacturing leadership experience in food/beverage or CPG required.
• Minimum 8 years plus people management experience
• Must have strong project management skills.
• Possess operational management principles and competencies.
• Charisma to conduct town halls and articulate a vision in front of a large group.
• Culture of continuous improvement skills using Lead/Sigma or TPM/TPS - always seeking ways to improve.
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $139,700 to $195,500. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
