CFS has partnered with a top leader in the manufacturing industry in Indianapolis seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting and finance department for their new facility.

Job Overview:

As a Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in providing financial stewardship to our business unit, serving as an integral member of our management team. From financial planning and budgeting to forecasting and reporting, you'll leverage your expertise to drive strategic decision-making. We're seeking a candidate with a robust background in accounting and financial management, coupled with stellar analytical prowess and leadership acumen. This role entails extensive international collaboration with our intercompany divisions, offering you a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on our global operations.

Key Responsibilities for the Controller Role:

• Oversee business unit accounting functions, ensuring adherence to management and accounting policies.
• Execute monthly journal entries in coordination with corporate accounting, including accruals and asset controls.
• Collaborate with corporate functions to maintain internal controls and compliance with policies.
• Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audits and manage travel & expense reporting systems.
• Analyze and report on sales, costs, margins, and expenses, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Work closely with the management team to optimize manufacturing transactions and controls.
• Assist in preparing reports for operations reviews and strategic analyses.
• Drive process improvements and review capital investment projects.
• Review customer contracts and agreements, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment.
• Support the development of sales incentive plans and pricing strategies.
• Manage customer rebates, commissions, and similar initiatives.

Requirements for the Controller Role:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Required
• 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel and MS Access.
