Plant Accountant jobs in Kansas City, KS

The Plant Accountant will have the primary responsibilities for the day-to-day manufacturing cost accounting activities to include but not limited to accurate recording of manufacturing expenses, inventory, and feedstocks for Monolith's Olive Creek manufacturing facility in Hallam, NE. The position will collaborate with other capabilities regularly and require excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong customer focus.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; Minimum 4 years experience in a large, multi-plant manufacturing environment 
• Experience and comfort working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for process cost accounting 

• Inventory/Cost of Goods Manufactured Accounting 
• o   Monthly reporting and reconciliation of supplies, feedstock, and finished goods inventory using FIFO  
• o   Monthly accrual of OC1 manufacturing cost and operating expenses 
• o   Monthly manufacturing cost variance analysis – focusing on price, quantity and yield metrics related to reactor performance

• Monthly / Annual Reporting 
• o   Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts specifically assigned to the Olive Creek facility 
• o   Prepare monthly actual vs. budget/forecast expense and capital spend reporting 
• o   Prepare monthly and quarterly re-forecasting for plant 
• o   Assist with annual capital and expense budgets 

• Plant Accounting Systems 
• o   Interface and reconcile plant cost systems with the general ledger 
• o   Assist in the implementation of plant ERP system as determined in the future 

• Performs other duties as needed. 

• Minimal travel required. This position will be based in an office setting from one of our locations - Hallam, NE, Lincoln, NE, or Overland Park, KS. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.
