JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Planning Director supervises and participates in advanced, highly complex professional planning tasks related to current and long-range planning, research, and urban design; analyzes and presents planning research in written, graphic, or oral reports for use by the Planning Director, the Historic Preservation Board, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and the Mayor and City Council. This position may require specialized skills in land use and transportation planning, environmental planning, urban design, community planning, historic preservation, or other specialty areas. In addition, the Assistant Planning Director may be asked to manage and supervise sections or divisions within the Planning Department. This is an at-will position.
