Primary Purpose

Leads and directs Sales Production & Planning team, has full knowledge of the production planning of all ready to cook poultry production for Mountaire. Oversees and guides the activities of the Sales and Production Planning Coordinators, ensuring that customer orders are scheduled and produced to meet customer on time in full (OTIF) metrics.   Works closely with Sales, Production Operations, Accounting, Procurement, Live Operations and Executive team members to meet immediate demand requirements while working alongside Accounting, Sales, and Production Operations teams to create, maintain and track the Annual Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP).

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Direct and Manage overall strategy to provide best outcomes. Develop Long Term and Short-Term Strategies to achieve business success, including developing tools to accurately reflect plant capabilities to use as a baseline for sales planning and strategy.
2. Provides overall direction and support to the scheduling department.  Makes recommendations to the sales group on product mix and customer placement to maximize plant, transportation, and external freezer efficiencies.  Training & development activities related to division to develop competence and commitment.
3. Reports performance metrics associated with schedule efficiencies, operations productivity, capacity utilization, inventory management and order fulfillment.  Provides regular performance reports to management and identifies opportunities for improvement.  Makes recommendations on sales volumes for budget purposes.
4. A thorough understanding of the limitations for production capacities and transportation capabilities is critical to produce an efficient schedule that is competitive but attainable.  Must provide a broad view of how the capabilities of each plant complement each other to generate the most efficient schedule possible to reduce internal transfer of products, prevent over-scheduling or mis-rotated product that would result in rushed efforts.  All members of Mountaire’s team maintain the highest level of safety and must follow all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE as required.
5. Develops Training and Education Plans.  Develops metrics and KPI's.  Integrates technology and best in class business standards.  Will integrate and manage the Sales and Operations Planning function.

Qualifications    

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher in Related Discipline; Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or applicable skills based on successive roles in Operations, Transportation or Supply Chain.
• 7 to 10 years related experience.
• Demand Planning, Operations Management, TQM, CPIM, CSCP, SCOR CPM, Lean, Six Sigma.
• Continuous Improvement, S&OP, Microsoft Business Suite.
