Job Summary:
You’ll own the FP&A function for Johnson County Clin-Trials (JCCT) - defining the company’s financial processes, dashboards and reporting. Reporting to the co-CEOs, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving key analyses across the company, with a special focus on improving operational efficiencies and projects related to JCCT’s research trial sites. This role will also be pivotal in enhancing our reporting and forecasting capabilities.
This is not a remote/home-based position. Must be able to commute daily to our corporate headquarters in Lenexa, KS.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain regular financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Ensure accuracy and provide insightful commentary on variances and trends.
2. Operational Support: Collaborate with the CEOs and operational teams to develop financial models, KPIs and Dashboards that assist in decision-making processes. Provide analytical support for initiatives aimed at enhancing patient recruiting, study profitability, and operational improvements. Comfort with extracting raw data, data transformation and ad-hoc analysis.
3. Strategic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the organization, particularly operational efficiency and study profitability.
4. Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements in financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Financial reporting and BI software implementation are likely near-term projects.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather information, understand business dynamics, and provide FP&A support. Ability to convey results to leadership and private equity sponsors.
6. Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain high standards of financial controls.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software systems.
· Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in healthcare settings.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting
· Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with senior management.
· Willingness and eagerness to understand workflows, find, extract and analyze data to find opportunities for operational improvements.
· Strong sense of ownership, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be a team player.
· Knowledge of clinical research trial operations and challenges is a plus.
· Experience working with a private equity or financial sponsor is a plus.
