    Summary

    The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis plays a key role in the growth of the FP&A Department at TravelCenters of America, leading TA’s financial forecasting, annual budget / business plan, operating plan variance analysis and special projects. This person will provide strategic support to senior management including preparation of financial presentations, capital expenditure analyses, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management. They will also oversee the design and implementation of on-going process improvements for TA’s financial planning software.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee preparation of the monthly strategic forecast, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, and advise senior leadership team on financial performance.
    • Prepare management presentations and forecast for bp leadership.
    • Integrate with bp PPM team members and processes as necessary.
    • Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives.
    • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
    • Lead the annual budgeting and planning process. Provide reporting and insight to the executive team.
    • Identify and monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances in all areas of the financial statements.
    • Manage the continued development of financial forecasting and modeling tools.
    • Participate in due diligence to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities.
    • Complete ad-hoc reporting and analyses as requested by senior management.
    • Provide financial support for various corporate projects as needed.
    • Build a high performing finance team, including staff development.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced certification preferred (CPA, MBA, CGMA).
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or similar data-intensive areas; 3 years in a management role.
    • Experience with Oracle Planning recommended; Oracle Strategic Modeling (Hyperion Strategic Finance) a big plus.
    • Experience with Oracle EPM systems, budgeting and forecasting.
    • Experience working with advanced data & analytics tools in addition to Microsoft Excel.
    • SAP, BW, and Business Objects a plus.
    • Highest standards of accuracy and precision, and highly organized.
    • Strong analytical and leadership skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
