Conair, a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of personal care, health & beauty products, premium kitchen electrics, tools, and cookware, is seeking a Director, Supply Planning for the Cuisinart brand based in our Stamford, CT location. Reporting to the VP, Supply Planning, this position leads two distinct areas in our Operations area: Planning and Purchasing.
Prioritizes production based on supply chain deficits, product demand and sales forecasts. Drives planning continuous improvement plans where necessary, liaise with pertinent support organizations and groups to tweak and develop business processes where required, streamline operations and tools.
Supply Chain Operations Planning:

Lead monthly Sales and Operations Planning meetings with marketing/sales.

Update and communicate monthly Financial Planning & Analysis Summary with latest forecast changes and YTD sales with operational partners and stake holders.

Update monthly parent-child summary per category.

Contact suppliers for shipment coordination / warehouse location changes including hot shipments.

Work with logistic team to ensure shipment are allocated to the right warehouse on time.

Coordinate with business and import group to ensure latest duty/tariff to avoid additional tariff impact.

Work with China Operations Team to ensure price negotiations, volume rebates, and defective charges.

Act as backup in case any Planning/Purchasing team members are on PTO.

Regular review meetings with suppliers/China Operations Team to ensure latest market info. and production forecasts are updated.
Purchasing:
-
Monitor product costing with Marketing at the item level for all categories.

Execute instructions provided by Senior Management and negotiate product costing at the vendor level.

Ensure accurate release of required materials to support all forecasted inventory and non-inventory items.

Verification of approved costing for inventory related items and proper requisition authorizations.

Release and assign purchase orders.

Authorize and verify timely distribution of purchase orders on a daily basis.

Ensure compliance with manufacturing agreement. i.e. vendor chargebacks.

Ensure incoming quality control defects are returned and reworked as needed with expenses charged to correct parties.

Provide timely reporting to Marketing and Senior Management on approved costing.

Update order quantities, delivery dates and cost in compliance with proper authorizations.

Provide SAP/ Excel spreadsheet reporting on business volume by vendor.

Coordinate with China Operations on all vendor informational details as required by SAP.

Review purchase price variance report for accuracy as related to item costing.

Review DMR reports to ensure goods are processed in a timely manner.

Execute debits / credits as required.

Resolve pricing issues to ensure correct authorized costs are used for inbound goods with marketing / China Operations / vendor involvement as needed.
Qualifications

Education – BA in Business Administration, MBA preferred.

Prior experience with Consumer Products/ packaged goods background in a professional capacity.

Experience in leading an operational / analytical team.

Prior experience with sales and distribution module (SD) and Material Management module (MM) of SAP or other fully integrated enterprise software.

Prior work experience with Sales and Marketing is required.

Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically.

Strong Excel skills required and experience in SAP preferred.
