High-End Custom Residential Superintendent

Job Summary
Toth Construction is growing and currently looking for an experienced high-end custom residential Superintendent with a proven ability to successfully understand & lead all parties involved (Clients, Designers, Consultants and Craftspeople) on a one-of-a-kind project from start to finish.
The Superintendent works closely in a team environment and is responsible for the overall success of the project.

Primary Responsibilities
Superintendents provide on-site coordination and supervision of all construction operations on their project. Day-to-day responsibilities of the Superintendent include:
- Ensuring work is performed in a safe and expeditious manner, in accordance with plans and specifications, and in compliance with local building codes.
- Constructability problem-solving in collaboration with various design consultants, e.g., Architect, Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, and/or Interior Designer.
- Consistent maintenance of current plans, specifications, as-builts, and other necessary documentation in Buildertrend software and company server.
- Daily walk-throughs and job activity logs in Buildertrend.
- Managing subcontractors and all related elements (i.e., scheduling, evaluating work performed, safety compliance, submittal review, shop drawings, RFIs).
- Perform completion & punch list identification and completion.
- Contributing to estimate creation in collaboration with Preconstruction and Estimating Team during preconstruction phase and Project Manager throughout construction phase.
- Schedule subcontractors, vendors, and consultants in the critical path to ensure timely completion. Partner with the project manager to develop and manage the project schedule, currently working with Smartsheet software. Maintain 3-week look ahead schedules and work with Project Managers and Project Engineers to update schedules and forecast any upcoming delays.
- Maximizing subcontractor and supplier relationships, keeping communication open and professional.
- Manage onsite quality control throughout project lifecycle.
- Weekly safety meetings and jobsite safety inspection reports.
- Maintaining job site security and ensure the job site is kept in a clean, organized manner and up to safety standards.
- Coordinating material deliveries, handling, storage, and placement (with foreman support).
- Training and directing field crew. Subsequently, conducting performance evaluations.
- Professionally representing Toth with clients, architects, owner’s reps/assistance personnel, project managers, subcontractors, management, field staff, neighbors and/or neighborhood HOA representatives.

- Read and troubleshoot plan sets.
- Perform material takeoffs.
- Review/redline/submit shop drawings in advance of ordering.
- Able to create, read, and manipulate schedules.
- Mentor and train Toth in-house field crew (laborers and apprentice carpenters).
- Anticipate problems & proactively develop creative solutions.
- Organize and lead meetings onsite without PM, distribute decisions to appropriate persons.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods, walk job sites, stairs, or elevated structures with ease, and bend/stoop as needed. Ability to lift or maneuver boxes without accommodation.
- Must be able to manage various client relations and respond promptly and courteously to client needs.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must project and promote positive morale.
Qualifications
- 10 years residential remodeling and/or new construction in a leadership role (i.e., Foreman, Superintendent, Construction Manager).
- 5 years in a leadership role focused on high-end custom residential construction.
- Degree in Construction Management, related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experienced in the field of architecturally driven residential high-performance buildings.
- Experienced in all phases of building: demo/clearing, layout, foundations & footings, underground utilities, concrete, waterproofing/flashing, framing, windows & doors, envelope, interior/exterior trim, finish, cabinet/casework installation, drainage, landscaping.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience, $115K-$165K.
