Mid-sized, well established commercial construction contractor is seeking a construction supervisor to run field operations in our construction division. Must be fully knowledgeable with all phases of office, restaurant and retail tenant fit up projects, both renovations and new construction. The candidate must be very organized and able to manage multiple projects using in-house trades with lead men and subcontractors.
Position requires someone who is intense and production oriented while at the same time flexible with the ability to handle details and solve problems. The ability to perform accurate materials takeoffs and monitor labor and production budgets is essential. Ability to turnover projects on time & within budget. Travel would be required.
Candidate must have hands-on carpentry/drywall/doors/millwork trades experience to ensure work is done correctly and with expected level of quality. This position requires working hands on to get things done when needed. A working knowledge of other sub trades is important in order to ensure compliance with drawings and codes.
Candidate must be well versed in reading and interpreting drawings, performing layout, recognizing deficiencies in drawings, and communicating with clients and architects to get answers and keep projects on target.
Administrative and contractual duties include change orders, timecards, RIF's, ordering and purchasing and other administrative responsibilities as required. Good communication skills required in order interact with trades, subs, company management and clients.
