    We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist who is passionate about cultivating the school’s mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student.

    This position is a full-time position for the Raleigh County Campus and will report directly to the Department Manager. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.

    Job Description

    The Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist is responsible for coordinating, designing, and producing print and electronic promotional materials. The position is also responsible for developing content and maintaining New River CTC’s social media accounts. The position will assist in a variety of assignments in the gathering and preparation of information about the institution and its programs.

    The Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist assists the Director of Communications with the development and implementation of marketing strategy to promote New River CTC and the educational foundation. This is a non-supervisory position primarily responsible for the design and production of print and electronic promotional materials and developing content for and maintaining New River CTC’s social media accounts. This individual will also serve as an ambassador for the college to both internal and external constituency groups to promote college activities and events. Job responsibilities require skill in the mechanics of the English language as well as in the use of personal computers, word processing software, photography, and Adobe Creative Suite products. The Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist demonstrates sound judgment and decision making in situations requiring assessment, interpretation, and analysis.

    Performs other functions as required or assigned. Also complies with all Policies and Standards.
    Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for working collaboratively to create internal and external communications, including writing, and editing content to support, promote and advance New River Community and Technical College while maintaining the College’s brand. This position will be responsible for photography, developing social media content, graphic design and assisting with events.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and other College departments to develop strategies for material and digital content to meet the College’s needs while ensuring brand consistency.
    • Create print material and digital content to support the College and the Foundation. Examples include but are not limited to: information for the website and social media, brochures, pamphlets, advertisements, annual report, forms, newsletters, programs, and flyers while maintaining relationships with contracted vendors.
    • Develop and disseminate electronic communications.
    • Support compliance to the institutional marketing plan.
    • Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor.

    Professional Development

    • Compliance training is to be completed routinely and timely.
    • Participate in additional professional development opportunities through LinkedIn Learning and professional organization affiliations.

    Education

    Education Level - Bachelor's Degree

    Field of Study - Communications, Graphic design, fine arts or an equivalent of education plus experience required.

    Experience Details

    *Writing and editing experience, with a variety of print and online communications media.

    *Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).

    *Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress and Joomla).

    *Experience with digital photography.

    *Experience using social media for business.

    *Experience with video editing.

    Required - At least two years of experience in each of these areas is required.

    Previous experience in a higher education environment is preferred.

    Classification/Compensation:
    This is a full time, exempt, non-classified position serving at the will and pleasure of the President. Minimum starting annual salary is $35,000. Position comes with a full benefits package.
