Plan Design Specialist works closely with clients to design group health, dental and/or life insurance plans to create an overall benefit package. Works alongside underwriters, but is not an underwriter role. Being a Plan Design Specialist monitors and analyzes cost trends. May handle more complex plan design. Additionally, Plan Design Specialist requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plan Design Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The Washington FAIR Plan provides property insurance for dwellings and commercial buildings. We have an opening for a full-time Administrative & Underwriting Specialist.
This position is in-office full time, possible hybrid after training.
Job Description:
The Administrative & Underwriting Specialist will be part of a small team. The position responsibilities include preparing all invoices and bills for approval and updating Quicken; processing applications and preparing them for the underwriter; word processing insurance documents; independently completing routine policy updates including input to Access; using Excel to import and manipulate data to produce reports; responding to emails; answering the phones; monitoring and ordering office supplies; and other duties and projects as needed.
