Plan Design Specialist jobs in Arkansas

Plan Design Specialist works closely with clients to design group health, dental and/or life insurance plans to create an overall benefit package. Works alongside underwriters, but is not an underwriter role. Being a Plan Design Specialist monitors and analyzes cost trends. May handle more complex plan design. Additionally, Plan Design Specialist requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plan Design Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Overview:

    This position provides the necessary leadership, direction, and management control for planning design and construction projects at assigned singular hospital campus or clinic locations. The project manager is responsible for the successful completion of all assigned projects.

    * Ongoing daily management of construction projects to ensure successful completion of all projects.
    * Develop project plan for successful management of all assigned capital construction projects.
    * Assembles project team consisting of internal and external members and takes leadership role in promotion of project management initiatives
    * Understands and applies to projects Mercy Ministry design, planning and brand standards
    * Solicits vendor resources utilizing request for proposals methodology and evaluates and recommends appropriate vendors based on project knowledge, vendor responses and physical space. Directs, monitors and evaluates performance of vendors and contractors.
    * Implements department policies and procedures on all construction projects.
    * Communicates effectively with user groups (project owner); support departments, department leaders, and community leadership regarding all aspects of the project
    * Develops solutions to overcome project obstacles and achieve desired results.
    * Coordinate project design with project sponsor and all support departments.


    * Ensures that project complies with environmental, safety regulations and municipality requirements.
    * Manage infection control and interim life safety measures are in place on all assigned projects.
    * Coordinate any disruptions to services due to construction activity with Facilities and operational departments.
    * Ensures project vendors and contractors are appropriately trained in Mercy safety standards.
    * Ensures all regulatory compliance records are complete and properly maintained
    * Understand municipality permitting requirements,
    * Manages to ensure safety for co-workers, patients, and visitors.


    * Manages and directs project decisions to contribute to successful financial and operational performance of construction projects.
    * Develops project budgets, maintains project budget through project duration. Manages change order process, contingency logs, action items logs and other project management tools.
    * Develops overall project schedule, for all phases of project including feasibility through move in and closeout.
    * Reviews contractor sub tier competitive bidding.
    * Write contracts and make recommendations for contract execution
    * Directs vendors and contractors in a manner that yields desired project outcomes.
    * Routinely surveys condition and performance of all contractors and subcontractors to ensure their optimum performance and reliability
    * Directs and works collaboratively with contractors and co-workers to develop strategies for reducing project costs and identifying project related efficiencies
    * Provides updates and reports to PDC department leadership and project sponsors
    * Coordinate all owner furnished items with project team.
    * Lead all efforts in project closeout.

    * Builds a customer focused project team
    * Supports diversity and teamwork


    Performs other work duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Five years of progressive experience managing construction projects in the commercial, education or healthcare industries
    • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
