Pistils Landscape Design Build is seeking an exceptional planting plan designer /plant specialist to join our team for the long-term. The ideal candidate will have a great passion for plants and planting plan design, be highly organized, and enjoy collaboration with team members and clients. This position is a great opportunity for a motivated person excited by the prospect of managing all plant-related aspects of our landscape design/build process— from developing initial plant ideas and creating planting plans to the ordering and the placement of plants at the project site. In addition to a desire to innovate through design, a key requirement is having excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills, as there are daily connections with fellow team members and clients. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to understand plant-related project requirements and objectives
- Create detailed plant design concepts, sketches, and renderings
- Utilize software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Vectorworks / CAD, SKewtchUp to develop designs
- Incorporate feedback from design director and principal and make revisions to designs as necessary
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in plant design
- Ensure designs meet quality standards and project specifications
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients and stakeholders throughout the design process
- Have a thorough awareness of local plant wholesalers and their current availabilities
- Manage plant material budgets for jobs
- Make plant orders for installations
- Place plants on job sites for installations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Plant Designer or similar role
- Proficiency in design software
- Strong graphic design skills with an eye for aesthetics and attention to detail
- Ability to translate concepts into visually appealing designs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to order plants and manage budgets
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
