Pipeline Technician is responsible for the maintenance and correct operation of an oil or gas pipeline system. Troubleshoots, tests, maintains, and repairs pipeline equipment which may include valves, operators, and filtration systems. Being a Pipeline Technician performs periodic inspections and routine maintenance on the pipeline system. Completes maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents. Additionally, Pipeline Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Pipeline Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. SPEC Services has an excellent reputation for pipeline and utility engineering and design and is experiencing increasing demand for this type of work. We are seeking to add several enthusiastic designers to supplement and support our dedicated design teams with projects in California and beyond.
The position has a flexible 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work location, supporting the Fountain Valley office.
Job Requirements
Candidates must have at least 3-10 years of pipeline design experience and direct industry experience. Strong in AutoCAD and Civil3D experience, aerial photography manipulation and AEC object expertise is preferred. Knowledge of B31.4 and B31.8 design requirements. Position also requires learning new software & standards. Successful applicants will increase their knowledge of the design aspects of these facilities while enhancing their AutoCAD capabilities and develop into design lead positions.
Preferred Qualifications include BlueSky – Skyline/Lightning Experience, familiarity with Pipeline Survey Techniques, ESRI GIS Experience, and familiarity with ASCE 38-02 SUE Classifications & Cross-Country Pipelines.
Bachelor Degree in engineering is desirable but not required, and successful performance and years of engineering study will apply to experience requirements. Candidate’s experience with Plant3D, MicroStation, UAVs, & Pipeline construction field experience is a plus!
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
