Pipeline Technician is responsible for the maintenance and correct operation of an oil or gas pipeline system. Troubleshoots, tests, maintains, and repairs pipeline equipment which may include valves, operators, and filtration systems. Being a Pipeline Technician performs periodic inspections and routine maintenance on the pipeline system. Completes maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents. Additionally, Pipeline Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Pipeline Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary:
Identifying electric distribution and transmission structures, conducting visual inspections and stray voltage tests and recording results on handheld tablet. Employee will be required to read a utility strip map and navigate through tablet functions. Inspections are performed on structures both on and off road, position requires the ability to walk approximately 1-5 miles daily. Time management skills and the ability to work independently are essential functions of this position. This is a full-time, permanent position and benefits provided.
Essential Job functions:
· Visually inspect electric utility structures and note conditions based on outlined criteria.
· Conduct SV test and record result, using provided equipment.
· Adhere to safety standards as defined by PPS’s safety standards and procedures.
· Polite and professional interactions with public, the client and all PPS personnel.
· Adhere to PPS dress code and be fully outfitted in provided PPE.
Position Qualifications:
· One year experience in electric line work, cable communications field work or related secondary education.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to navigate computer functions.
· Ability to work in all types of weather.
· Ability to walk 1-5 miles daily.
· Valid driver’s license.
