Summary
This individual is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules for upcoming and active construction projects. This role involves collaborating with Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, trade contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary and time constraints.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the planning, development, and tracking of the overall project schedule including updates, progress reporting, and problem analysis to ensure compliance with company and client requirements for construction with input from the project team
Interface with the preconstruction team for schedule development to understand goals and requirements of the project
Create comprehensive project schedules including all tasks, milestones, and resources required for successful project completion
Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of schedules and successful project execution
Coordinate with project teams to allocate time and resources efficiently to ensure optimal utilization and adherence to project timelines.
Work with project teams monthly to monitor project progress against the established baseline schedule and identify any deviations and potential risks to the project timeline
Provide updates to project schedules as needed, monthly at a minimum, based on changes in scope, resource availability, or other factors impacting project timelines
Coordinate with the project teams to identify, anticipate, and mitigate potential schedule risks by identifying critical path activities and developing contingency plans
Assist in effectively communicating schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts to project stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients
Ensure that project schedules adhere to quality standards and best practices in scheduling methodology and client requirements
Develop and assist the project teams in maintaining accurate records of schedule revisions, delays, and other relevant project information for reporting and analysis purposes
Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for process improvement in scheduling practices
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Technical Skills And Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering, or other similar field, and a minimum ten (10) years construction scheduling experience required.
Proficiency in scheduling software Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and similar programs
Certification in scheduling (e.g., PSP, PMI-SP) is desired
OSHA 30 certification and First Aid certification desired.
Attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and documentation
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment
Knowledge of construction methods, means, and techniques and experience in construction and contracting procedures.
Working knowledge of construction drawings, costs, and principles
Ability to work evenings and weekends if required by project schedule
