  • Job Description Summary: As a Senior Natural Gas Scheduler, your role will encompass supporting one or many traders engaged in purchases, sales, and transportation of natural gas. Your responsibilities include nominating pipeline EBBs, accurately entering trade deals into the internal systems, investigating any discrepancies in contracts and shipments, and delivering direct customer service to internal and external counterparties.  You will also assist in generating essential reports for the trading desk and coordinating front and mid-office support across all desks.   

     Additionally, you will be responsible for the comprehensive capture of deals in the system, ensuring both timeliness and accuracy. This position requires a robust ability to collaborate effectively with both external parties and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will not only demonstrate proficient management skills in handling support functions related to pipeline, storage, and Local Distribution Company (LDC) contracts and rights but will also possess a keen interest and clear potential for career advancement toward a commodity trading role. We are specifically seeking an individual with a strong aspiration to grow into a trading position.     Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

    • Collaborates closely with the scheduling team to ensure all pipeline scheduling is performed quickly and accurately.   
    • Communicates with our suppliers and markets to ensure that contractual nomination data is coordinated properly and resolves all discrepancies promptly.   
    • Schedules gas on inter/intrastate pipeline EBB systems.   
    • Works with suppliers, purchasers, pipelines, and point operators to monitor and minimize imbalances. When imbalances occur, work within pipeline and LDC guidelines to reduce, eliminate, or trade those imbalances in the manner most advantageous to the company.   
    • Performs end-of-month closing tasks including actualization of pipes/trades in Allegro. Interacts closely with internal accounting and third parties to help resolve any discrepancies in monthly settlements.   
    • Monitors pipeline bulletin boards (EBBs) for both critical and non-critical notices and relays these to the team.   
    • Participate in weekend and evening on-call coverage as needed. System of Record (Allegro) subject matter expert for Gas Supply Services processes within the system (deal capture, scheduling, invoice reconciliation, etc.).   
    • Manages deal entry and shipment level information processes to allow transparent information to commercial, risk, and accounting.  
    • Arranges for delivery of natural gas to and from our respective customers daily.  
    • Nominates all contractual data promptly to the applicable receipt and delivery pipelines.  
    • Communicates between our suppliers and customers to ensure that contractual nomination data is coordinated throughout the delivery chain  
    • Works with trading personnel to ensure that imbalances are minimized by communicating on time when problems arise.  
    • Enters all pertinent nomination data into the nomination systems maintained by the applicable pipeline and system operators.  
    • Tracks the movement of all physical gas sales and maintains spreadsheets showing the contractual movements of gas.  
    • Works with suppliers, purchasers, pipelines, and point operators to monitor and minimize imbalances. When imbalances occur, work within pipeline and LDC guidelines to reduce, eliminate, or trade those imbalances in the manner most advantageous to the company.  
    • Review the efficiency of the nomination and accounting activities to ensure those functions are run optimally.  
    • Identifies incremental capacity and supply availability which may be acquired by the company cost-effectively and profitably to the company  
    • Represents the company at various business meetings and functions conducted by marketers, gas suppliers, and suppliers of pipeline services.  
    • Completes special projects as assigned

    Qualifications:  

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent education and experience  
    • 7 years of commercial natural gas scheduling experience, including experience scheduling on various interstate gas pipelines and LDC systems.  
    • Prior negotiation experience preferred  
    • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance  
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
    • Proficient in problem-solving and conflict management  
    • Ability to work independently in a multi-project environment  
    • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary  
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
