Summary: Makes and schedules patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner. Arranges consults with other physicians. Answer phones, greet, instruct, and direct patients and visitors. Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedules testing to be performed at CSC.
Schedules or reschedule appointments for patients as needed.
Attaches all electronic Epic referrals to appointments at CSC.
Arranges for consultations with other physician's offices.
Schedules any testing performed outside of our office for patients.
Greets patients and/or visitors.
Performs daily Gatekeeper duties.
Schedules patients from Epic in Basket and Epic Referral Unscheduled Queue, daily.
Schedules all referrals that are sent to CSC via fax or mail.
Registrations of any new patients who have not already pre-registered (if working front desk.)
Clarifies referrals are called and maintained daily.
Escorts patients to exam rooms when necessary or requested.
Completes paperwork and computer data for no-shows, reschedules and cancellations.
Notifies Patient Rep if referral is needed for patient’s appointment due to insurance change,walk-in, etc.
Reviews assigned provider schedules daily and maintain.
Takes co-payments and payments. Balance ledger at the end of the day and verify amount in cash box. Deliver cash box and ledgers to the business office at the end of the day (asrequired for offices in Gig Harbor, Olympia, and Auburn).
Arranges for interpreting services as needed per protocol.
Backs up call center as needed or directed by Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
Handles office emergencies per CSC protocol.
Assists RN, ARNP or MD for direct hospital admissions as needed or instructed.
Answer all inbound calls for the Cardiac Study Center.
Travel to any of the various Cardiac Study Center locations (Auburn, Gig Harbor, Olympia, Puyallup, and Tacoma).
Acts as a resource and preceptor for new hire appointment desk/call center staff.
Other duties as assigned.
