This position is located at the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southwest in Monterey, CA. Performs work on various high-pressure piping systems and equipment by assisting journey level pipefitters in all phases of work assigned such as installing, modifying, and repairing steam heating, steam generation, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, circulating pumps and radiators.
Responsibilities:
· You will install, modify, repair new/existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment; steam-heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems steam generators, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum, circulating pumps, and radiators.
· You will plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion and operation of various piping systems and equipment.
· You will install risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators in the combination needed to support the pressures of the systems and ensure proper operation of the systems.
· You will remove, clean, replace, pack, and seal defective parts of utility, supply, and disposal systems such as traps, sections of broken tile pipe, sewer lines, and leaking drains.
