Description:

Duties / Process of Pipefitting:

• Read and draw pipe schematics and isometric prints
• Cut pipe according to blueprint specification: using saws, hammers, chisels, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machines
• Thread and bend pipe: using chisels, cutting torch
• Assemble pipe: by welding, brazing, soldering
• Secures pipes to structure (wall, equipment, etc.) with brackets, clamps, hangers, and various hand/power tools
• Inspect, examine, and test installed pipe using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, etc. to see if leakage, tolerance, quality, etc.
• Resolve any pipe issues such as clogs or leaks
• Installing, servicing, and upgrading industrial piping
• Working in large industrial and manufacturing facilities
• Must have their own tools

***MUST BE GREAT LAKES SAFETY TRAINED and OSHA 10 Certified***

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have at least 2-4 years of experience

• Worked with Stainless Steel, Carbon Pipe, Black Pipe, PTFE, Etc.
• Reading blueprints and isometrics
• Experience with pipe larger than 3"
• Cutting, threading, bending, fitting pipe
