Physician - Sports Medicine examines and treats sport or athletic related injuries. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Sports Medicine monitors patient during sport events or physical activity and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Sports Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Sports Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. OhioHealth Sports Medicine and Primary Care is recruiting a full-time Sports Medicine Physician who will help expand Ohio University’s Division I athletic program. Responsibilities include treating and coordinating the medical care of athletes, team physician for Ohio University’s athletic department and primary care. Candidate must be proficient with musculoskeletal injuries, medical conditions in sports and knowledge of emergency care at sporting events. Ideal candidates should be BC/BE in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and fellowship trained in Sports Medicine.
