Physician - Sports Medicine examines and treats sport or athletic related injuries. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Sports Medicine monitors patient during sport events or physical activity and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Sports Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Sports Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     With 35 primary care providers in 6 clinics, we are the largest Primary Care group in Central Oregon. And as part of the Praxis Health family of clinics, our network additionally includes multiple specialty clinics as well.

     

    Bend and the surrounding communities are growing rapidly, presenting the need for an additional Sports Medicine/ Family Medicine Physician in our Upper Mill clinic, located in the heart of it all. This role will inherit an 80/20 Family Medicine/ Sports Medicine patient panel.

    • 1st year salary guarantee: $220,000 - $260,000 base salary wRVU Production Bonus

Bachelor, 20 minutes from downtown Bend, is the only destination ski resort in the state of Oregon, and there are numerous cross country trails and snow mobile parks.

     

    Summer sports include hiking, climbing at Smith Rock, fishing (lake and river), mountain biking, river sports, and over two-dozen golf courses are within a 45-minute radius. The public school system is strong, and there re private school options at all grade levels. There is a strong community college, and Oregon State University just launched the Cascades Campus, a full four-year university, also offering some graduate programs. A terrific regional airport in nearby Redmond provides numerous daily shuttles to Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Denver and Chicago.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Qualifications & Abilities:

    • Highly-engaged MD/DO physician
    • Board Certification/ Board Eligible and Residency trained in Family Medicine
    • Clinical competency and expertise in caring for Primary Care patients
    • Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics
    • Knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications
    • In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Respect for patient's confidentiality
    • Compassionate and approachable
    • Responsible and trustworthy
    • Attend work regularly and on time
