Physician - Sports Medicine examines and treats sport or athletic related injuries. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Sports Medicine monitors patient during sport events or physical activity and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Sports Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Sports Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Busy and well respected sports medicine and arthritis clinic is looking to bring on an a physician extender or athletic trainer.
Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or related field
Strong communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Basic computer knowledge in spreadsheet and word processing.
NATA certified, and current NJ licensure or eligible
CPR/AED
Completion of Orthopaedic Technologist Certification is a huge plus 12 months from hire date Must be able to successfully complete clinic~based training for all associates.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
