Administrative Assistant – Medical Office

Impact Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is looking for professional, motivated and caring people to join our dynamic team. We are an outpatient orthopedic surgery office located in Prairie Village, Kansas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• EMR experience helpful but not required

ROLES & RESPONISBILITIES:

• Responsible for welcoming patients to our office and check-in/check-out
• Triage patient messages, phone calls and questions appropriately and report to the doctor
• Schedule patient appointments
• Surgery scheduling and coordination of care
• Complete insurance authorizations
• Scan, fax and email documents as necessary
• Correspondence with workers compensation case managers and adjusters
• Clean, stock and prepare exam rooms for patient encounters
• Collect copays and patient balances from patients as applicable
• Assist the physician with in-office procedures such as suture/staple removal, splinting and casting

SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good typing skills
• Data entry
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Leadership skills and patient advocacy
• Ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional customer service
• Initiate problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution to foster sound working relationships with peers/colleagues
• Computer software/hardware troubleshooting with technical support as necessary

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
