General Summary:

The Advanced Practice Professional is responsible to function independently, conduct comprehensive examinations, diagnose and treat illness as directed by the supervisory physicians, compile medical data within the medical record, administer and order diagnostic tests and interoperate test results. The successful candidate will work as a team with our physicians and will assist in delivering premium care to each and every patient.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain an organized system of patient care
• Work in collaboration with medical staff members to provide multidisciplinary care of patients
• Prescribe and adjust does of medications as delegated by supervising physicians and within the scope of state law
• Administer and order diagnostic tests and interpret test results
• Maintains clinical core competency
• Oversees, directs and supports on site laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services
• Cooperates and participates in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice, quality or care and patient satisfaction
• Compile patient medical data within the medical record
• Consultation and/or collaboration with other health care providers
• Application of evidence-based practice and research skills
• Demonstrate respect for diverse groups of people; work cooperatively and effectively to achieve results
• Provide leadership, direction, and assistance during emergencies while maintaining a comforting and reassuring affect for patients
• Serve as a resource and positive role model to staff and office personnel
• Maintains confidentiality
• Provide guidance to other medical staff (office staff & medical assistants) to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction
• Uses ethical principles to guide decisions and actions
• Maintains knowledge of current relevant regulatory and corporate compliance
• Responsible for adequate chart documentation and coding
• Travel to other practice locations may be required

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Valid NJ State nurse practitioner license
• Valid CDS/DEA
• 5 years Nursing experience
• ACLS and BLS Certification
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; including phone and dictation skills
• Previous experience with an EMR system

Additional information

• Experience in Rheumatology preferred
