  • Job Summary:
    Small, well-established medical practice is looking for an office manager. The practice is a busy, single physician practice located in South Shreveport. The office manager is a critical position which reports directly to the physician. The successful candidate needs to be well-organized, flexible, team-oriented and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting the physician in providing the best possible care for her patients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the daily operations of the office including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
    • Manage, develop as needed, and implement office policies and procedures.
    • Perform billing and collections including coding from charts, processing and submitting claims, reviewing and appealing denials, and managing patient collections.
    • Responsible for oversight of pre-authorization workflows.
    • Assist with the strategic development of the practice including providing reports, identifying and proposing solutions to office issues, and preparing for future evolutions of the medical environment.
    • Providing direct supervision of office staff and coordinating with the physician to ensure both appropriate staffing and effective use of staff to address day to day operations.
    • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
    • Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and the highest ethical standards.
    • Manage and order as needed medical and office supplies.
    • Arrange emergency maintenance services as necessary.

    Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
    • 10 years experience as a medical office manager
    • 5 years experience performing medical coding, billing, and collections
