Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Job Summary:

    The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is interested in a Family Medicine physician to join the UW Health Access Wingra Clinic. This physician faculty will practice full-spectrum family medicine in the inpatient and outpatient settings, with maternity care (OB) being optional. This position will be involved in teaching of residents, medical students, and other learners. This position will include academic scholarly work.

    Responsibilities:

    Duties will include provision of clinical care of patients, with maternity care if applicable, and teaching/supervision of residents, medical students, and other learners. Teaching occurs in both clinical settings and in formal scheduled learning sessions. Time and other departmental and campus-wide resources are available to promote scholarly work in the candidate's area(s) of interest.

    This position includes participating in residency faculty call schedule, covering inpatient med/peds and OB (if part of practice), or potentially both. Faculty are expected to attend required departmental meetings and perform administrative duties, as necessary to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. There may be an expectation for nursing home visits. This position may also include opportunities to work on collaborative initiatives within UW-SMPH & UW Health.

    An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship promoting an inclusive environment with other faculty and staff members. The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with diverse populations or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with diverse populations.

    DFMCH is seeking family medicine physicians who encompass a variety of skills that relate to how they engage with patients and work in teams. DFMCH and its associated UW Health clinic operation has over 750 employees, including 171 faculty and an additional 261 clinical adjunct faculty located throughout the state. The DFMCH is committed to patient care while also offering outstanding educational and research programs. There are over 150 residents in our sponsored and academic partner programs, and more than 400 medical students train in the department each year, with the Madison residency program ranking fifth in the nation for 2023.
