Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the physician residents and provides the resources necessary to fulfill curriculum requirements. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram and laboratory tests; interpret test results for deviations from normal
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care; manage infection
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes and assist in provision of continuity of care
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance
Required Knowledge and Experience- Physician Assistant: Completion of accredited PA program
- Nurse Practitioner: Completion of accredited NP program; Master's degree in Nursing 2 or more years related healthcare experience and/or training
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration
- Physician Assistant: Current NC medical license; certified by the NCCPA
- Nurse Practitioner: Current NC Board of Nursing RN and NP license; certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
- Current BLS certification
This is a full-time position from 8:30 to 5:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 12:00 on Friday. There are no on-call assignments currently. We offer competitive compensation and benefits and a chance to earn bonuses too. - 26 Days Ago
