General Definition of Work
The Coordinator of Residency Alternative Licensure, under general supervision, performs full cycle recruiting for CMS Teaching Residency candidates and alternative licensure teachers throughout the year. Consult, advise and support recruiting, sourcing, and retention activities.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Create and perform innovative retention strategies for alternatively licensed teachers throughout the year
- Develop a pool of qualified applicants in advance of need; follow up with direct leads to create a viable pool of instructional candidates eligible for an alternative license and enrollment in CMS Teaching Residency or other EPPs
- Conduct initial screening of applicants in the Alternative License pathway job requisition to determine role and program eligibility, and evaluate needs related to state testing and coursework deficiencies
- Collaborate with partners to determine effectiveness of recruiting plans, make process improvements, and make recommendations to increase pipeline
- Maintain knowledge of updates from State Board Licensure Processes & Policies
- Conduct district and school-wide licensure meetings, principal meetings, individual conferences, and video call conferences to assist teachers and principals in understanding and fulfilling alternative licensure requirements for enrollment in CMS Teaching Residency or other EPPs to be eligible for continued employment
- Provide individualized support to employees who are considering or currently working under alternative licensure by evaluating transcripts in detail offering the most efficient and cost-effective path to either enroll in CMS Teaching Residency or another EPP for continued employment
- Monitor, review, and update all programs related to state licensure including determining license status, and initially licensed requirements
- Track and monitor licensure programs at the local level in conjunction with institutions of higher education
- Collaborates with CMS Teaching Residency project manager in maintaining and tracking state requirements of residency licensure across multiple cohorts of CMS Teaching Residency
- Gather necessary state forms and documentation for license applications
- Develop communications and presentations
- Provide documentation for alternative licensure and employment issues, as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned

- Knowledge and understanding of the components of the hiring and onboarding process
- Knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices in Human Resources administration
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance
- Knowledge of North Carolina teacher licensing requirements

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, business, or related field required
- At least three (3) years' experience in teacher certification process preferred
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a NC Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation.
