West Hartford Public Schools is seeking to fill a position for a full-time Residency/Security Coordinator at Education Center. This is a 12-month position.
Duties: Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reports directly to the Director of Residency/Security.
- Provide support to the Director of Residency/Security and the department.
- Registering and verifying residency for all new student registrations and maintaining up to date records district wide.
- Coordination and preparation of department budget with input from district and external partners.
- Submit time and attendance for department staff.
- Assist with McKinney Vento compliance and update information accordingly.
- Coordinate annual mandatory meetings/training.
- Prepare spreadsheets as needed for Residency and Security projects districtwide.
- Assist with the background checks and fingerprinting process for all new hires with the BOE coordinating their appointments within hiring guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Director of Finance and the Department Supervisor of Early Childhood Education annually the WHPS magnet lottery and deadlines.
- Coordinate with the Director of Equity Advancement and the Enrollment Coordinator of CREC the Open Choice lottery and deadlines.
- Assist Residency Investigator with investigations.
- Responsible for overseeing daily operations and deadlines are met.
Requirements: The requirements for this position include the following:
- Prior secretarial experience required.
- Ability to multiple tasks in a highly fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to work with confidential information and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and assist a team of 20 plus coordination across school support staff.
- Proficient computer skills, including: PowerSchool, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Microsoft Office Package with strong Excel background.
- Knowledge of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) preferred.
- Effective and efficient data entry skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are preferred.
