Job Description
The Director of Recruitment will plan, direct, conduct and administer the company driver recruiting program and develop the recruiting policy. She/he will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. The Director of Recruitment will use various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals to attract candidates for the organization. She/he will interview, vet, hire and retain the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline through implementing continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains a strong driver recruiting program.
- Advocates and maintains a strong commitment to the driver recruiting process through working cooperatively with the HR and safety departments.
- Sources key talent through passive and active sources including targeted postings, social networking, internet research, cold calling, etc.
- Creates and manages external job postings; processes and tracks applicant job submissions via Tenstreet software.
- Manages recruitment database and recruitment budget.
- Creates and suggests new and effective driver interviewing procedures and techniques.
- Implements strategic hiring procedures and continuously improves upon recruitment measures.
- Finds additional networking opportunities to attract top talent, including diversity, veteran, and disability candidate outreach and alternative job boards or community-based organizations.
- Fosters and cultivates positive relationships with candidates for immediate needs and strategic long-term needs; maintains timely communication with candidates, HR, Safety and hiring managers.
- Collaborates and consults with Tranco leadership team on strategic and tactical recruitment plans.
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand overall needs and requirements (Job postings, pay rates, timing, expectations, etc.)
- Assists with the creation of recruitment marketing content for our career site, email campaigns, career Facebook site, etc.
- Manages movement of candidates through the full talent acquisition process including sourcing, recruiting, and hiring.
- Screens and evaluate candidates at each stage in the candidate pipeline.
- Coordinates and participates in career fairs and other recruiting events throughout the year.
- Assists with onboarding new hires (Hiring paperwork, completing I9's, scheduling orientation, etc.)
- Inputs, updates, and maintains recruitment records to ensure timely reporting on key metrics and compliance with all legal regulations.
- Identifies and researches new, innovative, and creative recruiting methods.
- Any other tasks as required by management.
Requirements
Educational
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience of no less than 2-3 years; Bachelor’s Degree in management preferred.
- Experience with regulatory agencies required (DOT, FMCSA, NATMI, OSHA, etc.).
- Strong oral/written communication skills.
Technical
- Training or equivalent experience in computer use and software Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point; Experience with Peoplenet preferred.
- Must be able to implement recruitment programs, interpret and collect data, and present the data to management to drive continuous improvements.
Physical
- Occasionally move and/or lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications
