We are seeking to employ a Medical Assistant/Front Office Receptionist with a 3 month probationary period and starting wage of $23/hour with benefits listed below.

United Critical Care is a Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine medical office located near Southern Hills Hospital in the SW area of Las Vegas. We see an average of 15-20 patients per day, 4 days a week. Our staff consists of 2 Medical Assistants, 1 Sleep Technician, 1 Office Manage/RN and have 2 amazing, knowledgeable & friendly doctors alternating weeks (so only one doctor in the office each week). Due to our friendly family oriented work environment, and utmost respect from our doctors, our office has no turnover and all employees have been with us for 5-13 years. The reason this job is available is that the current front desk MA is moving into management position.

We are aware of the challenges of working every weekday and the importance of a day off during the week to run errands, etc. therefore we offer one week of (5) 8 hour shifts 830-5 pm and the following week of (4) 10 hour shifts 8am-630 pm, enabling you to have every other Friday off.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited CMA program
• 3 Years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• Knowledge with EMR (Amazing Charts a plus)
• Familiar with Nevada Insurances
• Working knowledge of insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, referrals and scheduling.
• Ability to read & speak Spanish & English
• Organization and attention to detail
• To function as part of a team, as we all help each other and work well together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ( NO BILLING OR CODING NECESSARY AS WE HAVE A THIRD PARTY BILLING COMPANY THAT DOES THAT FOR US)

• To greet patients promptly and in a courteous and professional manner.
• To assist in scheduling follow up appointments. We have a new patient scheduler for new patient appointments.
• To collect copays prior to patient appointment.
• To accurately enter insurance information and demographics into EHR.
• To timely notify physician or other provider that patient is ready for appointment.
• To make patient appointments for follow-up visits, or appointments with other providers.
• To revise daily schedules for cancellations or "No Shows".
• To perform clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, scanning, importing to EHR.
• To help check incoming faxes in a timely manner.
• To answer phones in a pleasant manner and deal with patients and other caller’s needs expeditiously.
• To do PA's for some medications
• To fax the daily sign in sheet to our billing department.
• To report to work at the scheduled time, demonstrate consistent and regular attendance, and consistently work the duration of the scheduled shift.
• To perform other duties as assigned.
