As a Practice/Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the overall business operations of the medical practice run smoothly. Managing a medical office takes a diverse skill set, from administrative abilities to people skills to an understanding of a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Hire and train, or oversee the training of, administrative and clinical staff
• Establish job descriptions and training protocols for staff
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance
• Establish office policies and oversee training the staff on them
• Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations
• Manage insurance contracts
• Oversee patient scheduling
• Communicate with patients regarding inquiries or complaints
• Ensure that patient records and documentation are accurately input into software system
• Oversee billing and collection procedures to ensure that clean claims are processed and monies due to the practice are collected in a timely fashion
• Responsible for OSHA compliance
• Responsible for facility cleaning and waste management
• Oversee or perform inventory management and ordering of supplies
• Oversee or perform payroll duties
• Oversee or submit payroll taxes
• Ensure that all licensing and certifications are current for physician and staff
• Oversee insurances for physician, staff, and facility
• Create and manage systems in the practice to ensure that all tasks are complete and correct
• Schedule office meetings, develop an agenda, and follow up
• Have a full understanding of state employee law
• Ensure continuing education is provided for all staff members including the manager
• Provide a pleasant work atmosphere that employees enjoy

Skills

• Proven working experience as a Practice or Office Manager
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong project management skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
