Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at our medical office. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and proficiency in phone systems and medical office software such as Epic.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk
- Verify patient information, collect co-pays, and process insurance claims
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely communication
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
