Physician - Physiatry examines patients to determine appropriate physiotherapy. Determines type and extent of therapy to treat physical, mental, and occupational needs. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of patients
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed
- Perform procedures such as tube feeding, catheterization, and specimen collection processing
- Provide patient education on preventive care, disease management, and treatment options
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of medical conditions to accurately document patient information
- Triage patients based on the severity of their condition and provide appropriate care
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of {location}
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience in senior care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of workers compensation law and utilization management is a plus
- Strong clinical skills and ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems for accurate documentation
