  • Morlen Health is currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physiatrist to join a thriving department of nine physicians and two physician assistants.

    This is a permanent position. You will be based at the Kaiser Permanente Sunnybrook Medical Center in the Portland, OR area, but you should also be flexible to support patients at the KP Central Interstate (Portland, OR) and Orchards (Vancouver, WA) locations, as needed. Chronic pain and disability issues are managed by the primary care providers which results in efficient and streamlined care for these members and allows the Physiatrists to work as a consultative service within the health system. Expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound procedures, electrodiagnosis, and Rehabilitation Consultation is required.

    Physiatry care responsibilities are delineated by Department Service Agreements so care roles are typically discrete among departments. There is no evening or weekend call. This role will also support referral triage and chart review, 1 day per week virtually, and work 3 ½ days per week, in a clinic.

    Physiatry role within the department team can include the following:
    • Proceduralists (Ultrasound guided shoulder injections, SI Joint, Botox for limb spasticity, Electrodiagnosis [except for muscle and certain niche neurodegenerative diseases]), Fluoro-guided injections and ESI’s are part of the practice, but may be available for this role based on demand in the community.
    • Differential Diagnosticians (especially as it pertains to cervical spine /shoulder and lumbar spine/hip. Virtual Care is expected to be optimized whenever possible, especially as the first line of evaluation.
    • Rehabilitation Medicine consultation is provided to a small inpatient consultation service and a small outpatient Neuro-Rehab service. The anticipated / historical ratio will be 60-70% "Proceduralist".

    Salary range: $243,100- $294,400
