West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Division seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician (ranks available: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Berkeley County, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will assist with coverage of the newborn nursery and will staff the eight bed pediatric unit with step-down unit level capabilities and nursing. While the schedule is flexible, current staff prefer a seven days with seven days off schedule. Weekday nights are managed by in-house advanced practice providers. Weekend nights are covered by in-house faculty with opportunities for extra shifts and pay (moonlighting). In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and family medicine residents and will have opportunities to engage in quality improvement projects.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. State medical license and DEA registration is required by start date. Successful candidate must have completed Pediatric residency program and be board certified / eligible in Pediatrics. Preference will be given to candidates additionally board eligible/certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
