Physician - Pediatrics examines children to ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Requests necessary tests, and follow-up visits, and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Being a Physician - Pediatrics requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Job Details:
- MICU and Newborn nursery size - 40 , physician only covers 14
- Daily census- Nursery 6-8, Peds 6-8
- Patient ages- 35 weeks for newborns
- Multidisciplinary rounds, see patients in Nursery & Peds Floor, some procedures required
- Average number of admissions per night: given night shift – may see 4-5 new babies and 1-2 PED
- Only one physician at a time
