Pathologist-in-charge of Cytology, as Assistant Director of Cytology, and full responsibility of the Department of Cytology.Supervision of Pathologist Assistant, Cytotechnologists and active one to one teaching of medical students.Assist Director in assuming responsibility of all functions of the Laboratory and proficiency testing as needed.Critical results reporting to providers and documenting such communication.Gross examination and dictation of surgical specimens in absence of PA.Microscopic examination, resulting and sign out of tissue and cytology specimens.Performance of ALL intra-operative consultations (including Frozen Sections).Adequacy of Renal Biopsies.Performance of autopsies.QA/QC review and participation in QMS/QA/PI processes.Medical supervision, communication with clinicians, examination of complicated CSF, blood smears and other stains.Assist ALL Laboratories in urinalysis smears and joint fluid evaluations.Medical consultation on Laboratory test results and Reference Laboratory Testing.
Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York
Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and be willing to teach
Must hold, or be eligible for, or plan to become eligible for NY state Certificates of Qualification
