    Job Responsibilities:

    • Field patient calls/inquiries
    • Obtain any relevant information regarding patient problems
    • Relay relevant information to provider and respond to patients as directed
    • Document interactions and outcomes
    • Provide patient results via telephone as directed by provider
    • Test results
    • Set up additional testing, if necessary
    • Follow-up scheduling as directed
    • Review treatment changes, if necessary
    • Answer all patient questions as able
    • Perform Capsule Endoscopy procedures in office
    • Instruct patients on procedure
    • Manage documenting and downloading procedure records into system
    • Clean and maintain all equipment
    • Track supplies and make requests to maintain supply counts
    • Assist in managing patient prescriptions
    • Provide refills as directed
    • Make certain patient is compliant with office/lab requirements
    • Place prescriptions as directed
    • Process and maintain medication prior authorizations as needed
    • Provide patients with medication instruction as directed
    • Coordinate with specialty pharmacies regarding patient home/infusion care
    • Make referrals to tertiary facilities as directed by provider
    • Organize and send all relevant patient information
    • Follow up with tertiary facilities to confirm scheduling
    • Follow up on any required outside records that are requested
    • Communicate interdepartmentally
    • Set up IRMC/IPG referrals
    • Coordinate/schedule patient testing, when necessary
    • Obtain patient results
    • Communicate with floor nursing staff regarding inpatient needs
    • Prepare providers for office appointments by assisting with chart checks
    • Check that all ordered testing is complete with results documented
    • Confirm all ordered referrals or counseling has been completed
    • Confirm appointments when necessary
    • Maintain/track medications sample counts
    • Order/obtain samples as needed
    • Track samples given to patients
    • Disperse samples between GI offices
    • Assist office staff with routine tasks as able
    • Adhere to all HIPPA guidelines

    Qualifications:

    Experience and Education: Completion of RN program or a multi-tasked professional with at least two years of experience, preferred in performing front and back-office activities in a medical environment. Current CPR certification.
