Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This includes conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual impairments and eye diseases, prescribing corrective lenses, and educating patients on proper eye care practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optometry, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and overall ocular health
- Diagnose and treat various visual impairments and eye diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses, based on individual patient needs
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients
- Stay current with advancements in optometry techniques and technologies
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an Optometrist is preferred
- Strong knowledge of optometry principles, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and HIPAA regulations
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic
- Excellent understanding of anatomy and physiology related to the eyes
- Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of recommended treatments or products
