Responsibilities
As a critical member of the team, Ophthalmic Techs and Scribe are responsible for assisting doctors, patients, co-workers, in the following areas;
- Prepares patients for ophthalmology examination, reporting patient history summary, checking and documenting visual acuity, checking extraocular movements, checking intraocular pressure, and dilating pupils. Must have knowledge of coding.
- Performing Diagnostic tests such as
- Visual Fields
- OCTs
- Topography
- IOL Master
- Fluorescein Angiography
- Fundus Photos
- Dry Eye Testing
- Assisting in in-office procedures and laser procedures.
Qualifications
JCAHPO Certified a Plus but not Required.
