Physician - Occupational Medicine oversees the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and/or injury. Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury or may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards. Being a Physician - Occupational Medicine examines patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Additionally, Physician - Occupational Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Incoming full-time providers work three 12 hour shifts per week at one of the soon to be eight locations within Inspira's network. Part-time and per diem shifts are available as well. Each facility is open from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week. The provider can expect to be scheduled for two weekend shifts per month. Occupational health (physicals, drug screenings, etc) will be involved within the scope of certain locations.
Visits mostly consists of upper respiratory conditions, bladder issues, cuts, stomach virus, and suturing. Each provider must be willing to see patients of all ages.
