Our thriving multispecialty clinic is seeking a fellowship trained BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist to join our practice. Our pediatric subspecialty team includes cardiology, anesthesiology, neurology, endocrinology, surgery, ENT (currently recruiting), pulmonology, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, feeding and development, chronic care, infectious disease, radiology and the only pediatric cardiovascular surgery program in New Mexico.

SummaryCares for pediatric and certain young adults in need of nephrology services. Patient care occurs in outpatient and inpatient settings. Outpatient care includes clinic and management of chronic dialysis patients. Inpatient care includes consults and management of dialysis at Presbyterian and UNM hospitals.
Responsibilities* The pediatric nephrologist is responsible for managing the care of pediatric nephrology patients.* Works collaboratively with nursing, clinic/hospital/childrens leadership, nurse case and care managers, care coordinators, pediatric specialists, and other facility-based healthcare professionals who comprise the patients care team to provide high quality, efficient and compassionate care. * Works collaboratively with the UNM Pediatric Nephrologists to provide on call services to pediatric services at Presbyterian and UNM Hospital.* Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level.* Meet and maintain all provider credentialing and QI standards.* Participate in the development, adoption, and implementation process for clinical standards for pediatric nephrology.* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.*Provides input into the practice sites financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.* Assists in the development and implementation of pediatric clinical and service standards.* Receives and resolves patient complaints.* Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.* Participates in team and multispecialty group meetings.* Maintains PALS and BLS certification* Performs other functions as requiredOther information*Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school*Successful completion of a pediatric nephrology fellowship from an accredited school or institution*Must be proficient in the care of pediatric nephrology patients*Able to perform US-guided renal biopsy in pediatric patients preferred but not essential as IR services are on siteEssential*ABP Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Nephrology
