Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Specialist to join our team. The Specialist will be responsible for performing various administrative and clerical tasks in a medical office setting. This position requires strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures.

DUTIES

• Preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
• Assist patients to better understand their charges and/or balances
• Taking credit card payment while providing exceptional and customer service
• Must demonstrate a good understanding of the billing process
• Ability to interact with the payer, patient and team members to verify coverage, submit claims, follow-up on appeals, underpayments, and payment disputes for resolution
• Investigate and resolve payment denials by correcting errors and supplying additional information to facilitate reimbursement
• Treats guests, patients, physicians, and employees with care, courtesy, and respect
• Establish and maintain working relationship with staff and vendors
• Adhere to policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent customer service
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to operate calculator, facsimile machine, copy machine, mailroom equipment and computer software
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Work independently
• Broad knowledge of health care terminology, principles, and regulations

Experience

• Preferred two (2) years of billing experience
• Certificate or equivalent and knowledge including but not limited to ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS codes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
