Physician - Hematology/Oncology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the blood, bone marrow, vascular and immune system. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Hematology/Oncology recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Hematology/Oncology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. The primary purpose of this position is; to provide clinical care to patients in an outpatient setting.
Graduated from an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program
Ideally a minimum of two (2) years experience in a Family Practice setting. Knowledge of organization policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care; common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care; taking a medical history, assessing medical conditions, and interpreting findings; preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence; developing and maintaining department quality assurance; establishing and maintaining effective working relations with patients, physicians, and the public. Maintain quality control standards; react calmly and effectively in emergencies; interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures; commit to quality patient care and concepts of Family Medicine.
National Commission on the Certification of Physicians’ Assistants (NCCPA) certified. Certification in Basic Life Support is required and must be completed before the end of the orientation period. CME requirement: 100 hours every two years. Re-certification examination every six years
