Summary:
Human Resource Generalist will support the organizational development, including partnering with management to provide input and guidance related to the recruitment process, compensation, employee relations, policy, training initiatives for both management and associates, ensure legal compliance, performance management and employee morale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Compensation
- Develop and administer wage, salary, and benefit programs to align with the direction of the company.
- Assist management regarding salary offers and salary increases to ensure equity.
- Recruitment Process
- Partner with hiring managers to identify knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for open positions.
- Pre-screen candidates via phone or in person.
- Initiate and complete background checks for hourly and salary candidates.
- Post positions internally to ensure equity and fairness to all employees related to internal opportunities. Review and approve internal candidates.
- Together with owners, create succession plan and determine career paths to support succession plan.
- Keep updated job descriptions for all hourly and salaried employees.
- Plan, create, and implement recruitment strategy to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Training.
- Identify training needs of management staff, determine best and cost-efficient way to deliver training, including attendance at seminars that focus on training.
- Identify areas where culture and developments or organizational needs to be evaluated.
- Employee Relations
- Conduct internal investigations, determine course of action.
- Research and document all employee relations issues, determine course of action.
- Initiate and maintain open communication with employees when they are out on a leave of absence, including FMLA, WC, and STD. Keep Management Team apprised of issues related to employee without violating HIPPA.
- Conduct exit interviews for all voluntary terminations, provided feedback mechanism to Management, identify trends.
- Monitor voluntary/involuntary turnover, recommending ways to reduce percentage.
- Maintain organizational charts.
- Determine ways to support our employee’s ability to balance work and family life.
- Policies and Procedures/Legal Compliance
- Provide input to corporate policies and procedures manual, including employee handbook to keep up to date with the market and the development of the organization, while still maintaining cost effectiveness.
- Provide interpretation, execution and guidance regarding policies and practices.
- Performance Management
- Partner with management to ensure growth reviews are conducted annually providing career pathing guidance to employees.
- Counsel management regarding proper disciplinary and performance management action for employees, ensuring all performance issues are accurately documented.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 years experience in Human Resources Generalist position(s) with similar responsibilities
· Bachelor’s Degree required, Human Resources preferred
· 3 years utilizing Paychex preferred
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
