Skin Solutions is looking for a Clinical Assistant to assist in medical procedures for the Nashville area. This is a PART time position, 3 days a week, 10 hours shifts, NO WEEKENDS!!! This would be a traveling Position within our Columbia and Franklin locations. ON JOB TRAINING PROVIDED.
The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. They would need to remain calm under pressure while also remaining team oriented and empathic to each patient and their needs.
Oversees and directly participates in the preparation of frozen section microscope slides.
Complies with established policies and procedures, including OSHA & HIPAA. Assures patient and office confidentiality. Assist providers with patient care. Meticulous chart documentation. Assist with biopsies/surgery procedures. Patient education regarding treatment plans/medication/skincare regimen.
Self-directed nursing procedures: suture removal, anesthetizing surgical sites, and dressing changes.
Performs other duties as may be assigned periodically.

Key Responsibilities:
Histology
· Set up tissue ink inpatient rooms and the staining station.
· Performs quality assurance checks on cryostat and refrigerator; fill out all appropriate log sheets.
· Follows appropriate procedures in processing MOHS specimens.
· Makes frozen section slides for each MOHS case promptly and in a timely fashion.
· Rotates and freshens staining solutions throughout the day as needed.
· Monitor surgical board for accuracy
· Empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns.
· Sharpens knives, orders supplies, files microscopic slides
· Ensures cleaning and daily operational maintenance of equipment, i.e., oiling of the cryostat, changing the filter of fume hood, etc. Notifies Lead Histo technician of any equipment problems so he/she can arrange timely service to correct or to schedule preventative maintenance.
· Covers the stains when done each day.
· Call Mohs patients post-op once chart locked to verify they are not experiences any issues that would warrant coming back into the office. Document conversation in the chart.
Other nursing duties as requested
